New Features, Changes and Fixes in SMP2007 and the SCO MDB file:

Changes to SCO MDB File:

• MDB files can no longer be processed more than once.
• The MDB packet code is now used for both the gift and letter packet code. 
• The five discrepancy text files are replaced with a single ExportChildTable.txt file.
• SpringfieldCountriesPre table is added to facilitate updates to SpringfieldCountry in SMP.
• SpringfieldLettersPre table is added to SCO mdb file.  Country offices no longer have to manually enter letter information, only “check off” when the letters arrive to the field.
• Requests for updated case history and updated photo are included in SpringfieldChildrenPre table.

New Features, Changes and Fixes to SMPs:

• General, Set-up and Configuration
  • New menu system that makes forms and reports more easily accessible.
  • Data patch is automatically applied.
  • Instead of exchanging data files by email, the monthly (semi-monthly) mdb files are downloaded from the SCO server by HTTP and the text files are sent by FTP to the SCO server.  All files are prefixed with “mmddyyxx” (date and country number).
  • Automatic “compact and repair” of smpdata.mdb file when loading SMP.
  • Automatic installation of licensed WinZip 10 Professional during SMP 2007A installation, used to automatically zip and unzip mdb and text files exchanged between SCO and country office.
  • Country information tab now includes a place to put the currency symbol for the country used for gifts and payments to schools and side-by-side columns to facilitate updating country description.
  • Addition of report that shows a list of MDB files previously processed.
  • Automatically makes a weekly backup copy of smpdata.mdb in c:\lacc\archive.
• Data file (smpdata.mdb) tasks automated on welcome form
  • Make backup copy to user selectable directory.

• Student form and information
  • Change tracking of “on hold” from school status to separate check box
  • Fix date of birth to eliminate possible confusion over mm-dd-yy vs. dd-mm-yy.
  • Addition of Sponsorship Override checkbox for use with payment to schools (to start a sponsorship for a student that is still new (fixes problem of SCO changing sponsor code back to new after country office manually sets sponsorship code to sponsored to begin payment.)
  • Drop down search box properly refreshes after toggling back and forth from “active only” to “active and inactive.”
  • Individual student form now includes the four new (or return) drop-down fields:  favorite subject, favorite activity, favorite color and “I’m interested in being a…”
• Student Lists are now accessed on a single form.  Most use advanced selection criteria.
  • New report of students with a photo older than two years.
  • New report Update Case Histories based upon selection criteria.
  • SCO master list now includes sort pop-up form.
• Processes
  • Creation of process packets that use packet date and are sent according to that date, eliminating the “close process” button (that makes previous packets available as in the gifts process in 2005B1 version)
  • Combine and automate file creation and email advisories.
  • Eliminate Grade Demotion reports (redundant reporting)
  • Addition of temporary graduates table that separates it from withdrawals, fixing the problem of mixed graduation/withdrawal packets.
  • Addition of send country/school description report/data file process.
• SCO Monthly (Semi-monthly) MDB files
  • Addition of SpringfieldCountriesPre, SpringfieldHistoricalGivingPre, SpringfieldLettersPre and tblMDBProcessing tables to increase functionality.
  • Addition of compare school status sub-report to the student comparison report.
  • Addition of “reason for sponsor delete” on sponsorship assignments-deletes report.
  • Gift process eliminates the step of assigning a packet code and manually processing list.
  • Various gift reports now properly exclude transactions with a negative amount.  Gift reports now reflect proper currency symbol (updated on the configuration form).
  • Letters and gift letters (written because of a gift sent by a sponsor) process now includes the uploading of transaction information to the server.
  • Updated case histories and photos processes are further automated as requests from SCO are included in the mdb file. 
• Schools
  • School form, description tab now includes side-by-side columns to edit school descriptions for resubmission.
  • Payments to schools now include customizable currency symbol (edited in configuration form)
  • Payments to schools now reflect payment for students with Sponsorship Override field checked.
  • Addition of send single school description for new schools.
