Grade Promotion/ Demotion Form:  HOW DO I Process Grade Promotions and Demotions?

Annual Grade Promotion—Promotes all students in grades with values from “-3” to “12” to the following grade (by adding 1 to the grade number).  In addition, this program eliminates all class assignments.  This routine should be run at the end of the school year.  Note: Caution should be exercised because this routine makes global changes to all records.

Press the Promote button.  A warning box appears.  If you want to go ahead with the promotion, press OK to continue.

Grade Demotions—This sub-form in the yellow box "Enter Grade Demotions" is used to enter all students who did not pass their grade in order to return them to their grade from the previous school year.

  1. In Grade Promotion/Demotion form, yellow box Demote grade, enter the student number of all students who did not pass their grade.

  2. Press the “Submit” button when finished entering student numbers to demote these students to their previous grade (subtracts 1 from grade number).
