What Is the "Payments to Schools" Feature?

The "Payments to Schools" feature was developed for those countries that distribute sponsorship funds to schools on a monthly basis; and especially for those that may vary that amount from month to month.

SMP supports a variety of funding systems that are defined on a school basis.  The table below describes the options.

MONTHLY FUNDING SYSTEM ACTIVE STUDENTS AMOUNT PER STUDENT
Monthly funding is based upon the:
  • Number of Active LACC students
 Active students can be defined as:

  • New, Sponsored and Previous

  • Sponsored and Previous only

  • Sponsored only
  • A fixed amount per student

OR

  • A variable amount per student
Monthly funding is based upon the:

  • Number of active LACC students

  • Plus "Per School" subsidy

 Same as above Same as above
Monthly funding is based upon:
  • Only "Per School" subsidy
 NA NA

All of the Payment to School options are set in School Information form, with the exception of the variable amount per student, which is defined in each student's record.  See HOW DO I Configure the "Payments to Schools" Options? for more information.

NOTE:  Active students with Sponsorship Override checked on the Students Individual form will be included on reports.  Once a Sponsorship Override student is sponsored, the check mark should be removed from this field.
